Mr. John Bosco Bugingo

Mr. BUGINGO John Bosco is a Rwandan Business Entrepreneur, an international business consultant and a practicing attorney. For over 17 years, he has been a private legal practitioner and the owner of a local top tier law firm in Rwanda and East Africa. He is the Founder and Managing Partner of Fountain Advocates, a law firm recognized as a leading law firm in East Africa by the East Africa Law Society (EALS).

He serves on several boards as an advisor and a Director in local, regional, and internationally owned companies. He is a member of professional bodies; the Rwanda Bar Association (RBA), the East African Law Society (EALS), an accredited Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators– London & Kigali branches and the International Compliance Association (ICA).

Expertise

    Mr. Bugingo is experienced in Corporate Business Law, Mortgage, Insurance, Arbitration and Finance. He is conversant with national, regional and international legal instruments. He has worked with a range of Institutions, Planners and Decision-Makers in Private Business, Government, NGOs, Civil Society Organizations (CSO) and Donor Agencies. He is an experienced contract negotiator and an expert In Rwanda Contract Law.

    He has participated as a negotiator for Government Power Purchase Agreements and Energy Concession Agreements involving local and international private firms. He has negotiated Investment Partnerships for Multimillion Public Private partnerships with the Government in the Garment industry, Real Estate Purchases and Acquisitions.

    He is a member of the Independent Institution Review Board (IRB) at the University of Global Health Equity (UGHE), medical school, where he is a nonscientific professional member on the Board in charge of ethics on research papers, a member of the Rwandan Bar Association (RBA), the East African Law Society (EALS), a regular trainer at the Rwanda institute of Legal Practice and Development (ILPD) and a training facilitator of peer workshop trainings, roundtable discussion series with the judicial stakeholders in Rwanda such as Judiciary, NPPA, RIB, and Rwanda Lawyers.

    John Bosco is a trainer and Fellow of the International Bridges to Justice (IBJ), Director of a local charity organization Rwanda Bridges to Justice (RBJ), an Honorary counsel to the Apostolic Nuncio (the Vatican office in Rwanda), Honorary and volunteer counsel to the Kigali-Arch Diocese, a Non-scientific Member (volunteer work) of the Independent Review Board (IRB) of the University of Global Health Equity (UGHE).
